Abstract

ANOTĀCIJA Promocijas darbs „Latvija Zviedrijas politikā 1939-1991” ir izstrādāts LU Vēstures un filozofijas fakultātes Rietumeiropas un Amerikas Jauno un jaunāko laiku vēstures katedrā. Autore: Argita Daudze. Zinātniskais vadītājs: Dr.habil.hist., prof.Antonijs Zunda. Promocijas darbā analizēta Zviedrijas politika attiecībā uz Latviju laika posmā no 1939.līdz 1991.gadam. Darbā izsekots Latvijas kaimiņvalsts attieksmei pret Latviju valstiskuma iznīcināšanas laikā, Otrā pasaules kara un pēckara periodā, atsedzot pielāgošanās politikas Padomju Savienībai kontekstu. Pētīta latviešu trimdas loma baltiešiem labvēlīgas Zviedrijas sabiedriskās domas veidošanā un PSRS iestāžu darbs pret baltiešu trimdu. Darbā izanalizēti Zviedrijas valdības attieksmes maiņas pret baltiešu tautām cēloņi, pakāpeniski nomainot ignoranci ar aktīvu iesaisti Baltijā. ABSTRACT Doctoral thesis “Latvia in the Policy of Sweden from 1939 to 1991” has been drafted at the University of Latvia, Faculty of History and Philosophy, Department of Modern and Contemporary History of Western Europe and America. Author: Argita Daudze. Advisor: Dr.habil.hist. Professor Antonijs Zunda. The doctoral thesis analyses the policy of Sweden towards Latvia from 1939 to 1991. The work follows the attitude of Latvia’s neighbouring country towards Latvia when Latvia‘s statehood was being destroyed during World War II and after the war by revealing an accommodating policy towards the Soviet Union. It looks at the role of Latvian émigrés who helped develop a positive opinion of the Swedish public towards the Baltic countries and the work of Soviet authorities against the Baltic exiles. The work analyses the reasons for the changes in the attitude of the Swedish government towards the Baltic nations by gradually substituting ignorance for involvement in the Baltic region.
