Ar jūras drošību saistīto terminu pārneses analīze starptautisko dokumentu tulkojumos no angļu valodas latviešu valodā

Abstract

Bakalaura darbā pētīta ar drošību starptautiskajos ūdeņos saistītu jūrniecības terminu pārnese latviešu valodā divās konvencijās COLREG un SOLAS. Pētījuma laikā tika veikta 419 terminu salīdzināma analīze. Uzmanības centrā ir jūrniecības terminu pārneses metodes un ar tulkošanu saistībās problēmas. Teorētiskais pārskats sniedz ieskatu jūrniecības terminu izcelsmē latviešu valodā, kā arī to praktiskajā lietojumā. Pētījums var būt noderīgs ar jūrniecību saistīto starptautisko dokumentu tulkotājiem, terminoloģijas speciālistiem un studentiem, nodrošinot pamatu turpmākai izpētei un jaunu terminu izveidei.

The Bachelor Paper investigates the transfer of maritime terminology pertaining to safety on High Seas from English into Latvian in two major conventions- the COLREG and the SOLAS. In the course of the research a comparative analysis of 419 terms has been undertaken. The focus of attention is on methods of the transfer of maritime terminology pertaining to safety on high seas and on translation-related problems. The theoretical overview provides an insight into the origin of maritime terms in Latvian and their usage in practice. The research can be of use for translators of international instruments related to seafaring, terminology specialists, and students, providing a basis for further research and development of new terms.
