Abstract

Maģistra darba „Sociālo darbinieku iesaiste aktīvas novecošanas veicināšanā Rīgā” mērķis ir noskaidrot, vai un cik lielā mērā sociālie darbinieki ir iesaistīti aktīvas novecošanas veicināšanā. Darbā analizēta psihosociālās nepārtrauktības teorija, dzīves gājuma teorija, strukturālā funkcionālisma un aktīvas novecošanas dinamiskā pieeja. Strukturēta intervija, fokusgrupas diskusija un daļēji strukturētas intervijas tika izmantotas empīriskajā izpētē. Empīriskais pētījums atklāj, ka sociālajiem darbiniekiem nav pietiekamas izpratnes par aktīvu novecošanu. Aktīva novecošana tiek saistīta ar fiziskām aktivitātēm un veselības uzturēšanu, bet sociālais aspekts bieži vien tiek aizmirsts. Sociālo darbinieku iesaiste aktīvas novecošanas veicināšanā ir atkarīga no organizāciju veida un sniegtajiem pakalpojumiem.

Master's thesis "Social workers involvement in the promotion of active ageing in Riga" is aimed at finding out whether and to what degree social workers are involved in the promotion of active ageing. The thesis analyses the psychosocial continuity theory, the life course theory, the structural functionalist and dynamic approach of active ageing. Structured interview, focus group discussion and semi-structured interviews were used in the empirical research. The empirical study reveals that social workers have insufficient understanding of active ageing. Active aging is associated with physical activity and health maintenance, but a social aspect is often overlooked. Social worker involvement in promoting active ageing depends on the nature of organizations and provided services.
