Helonīmi Latvijas lingvistiskajā ainavā

Abstract

Maģistra darbā pētīti Latvijas helonīmi jeb purvu nosaukumi. Ievērojot toponīmiskās derivācijas principus, veikta helonīmu klasifikācija, analizēti pirmatnīgie helonīmi, atvasinātie helonīmi, salikteņi, kā arī vārdkopas. Veikta raksturīgāko vārddarināšanas iezīmju kartēšana, atspoguļojot to izplatību Latvijā. Atsevišķa nodaļa maģistra darbā veltīta helonīmu darināšanā izmantoto semantisko paņēmienu – onimizācijas un transtoponimizācijas – analīzei, aplūkota arī purvu nosaukumu saistība ar citām toponīmu grupām. Pirmatnīgie un atvasinātie helonīmi, kā arī salikteņi raksturoti pēc to izcelsmes un semantikas. Pētījuma pamatā ir LĢIA Vietvārdu datubāzē pieejamie helonīmi.

Master's thesis researches Latvian helonyms (the names of marshes and swamps). Helonyms are classified in the research based on topoderivation and groups of primary helonymes, derived helonymes, composites and compounds are analysed. Author has made a mapping of the most characteristic word-formation features reflecting the helonym distribution in Latvia. A separate chapter is devoted to analysing such semantic processes as onymization and transtoponymization. Research also looks at helonym connections with other groups of toponyms. Primary helonyms, derived helonyms and composites are described according to their etymology and semantic approach. The data set of research is based on the helonyms available in the Latvian Geospatial Information Agency’s Place Names Database.
