Abstract
Although systemic cardiovascular parameters and perfusion in working muscle tissue are known to increase during static exercise, the effect of static exercise on microcirculatory perfusion in non-working tissues is not understood, nor are there any studies on the effect of static exercise on capillary refill time. To determine the effect of static exercise on post – compression reperfusion of the finger circulatory bed, systemic hemodynamic parameters and post – compression reperfusion time of the finger were recorded during unilateral static knee extension, as well as before and after it. Conclusions: there is no significant change in post – compression reperfusion time during and after static knee extension. Key words: perfusion; static exercise; microcirculation; capillary refill time
