Abstract
Bakalaura darba mērķis ir izpētīt valodas formu, kas izsaka ožas un krāsas jēdzienus, īpašības to attiecībā pret ožas un krāsu uztveres kognitīvajām īpašībām. Pētījumā tiks atspoguļota vispārēja informācija par esošājām teorijām un hipotēzēm, kuras attiecas uz krāsu un smaržu uztveres kognitīvajiem aspektiem. Kultūras konteksts un valodas gramatika nosaka metodes, kuras pielieto krāsu un smaržu iedalīšanai kategorijās. Tātad, balstoties uz starpkultūru izpēti, autors ir pierādījis, ka valodas struktūra veido pamatu mūsu smaržas un vizuālās uztveres izpratnei un interpretācijai. Smaržas un krāsu kognitīvas uztveres izpēte iezīmē kritērijus, kurus valodā izmanto smaržu un krāsu iedalīšanai kategorijās.

The aim of the thesis is to investigate linguistic expression of olfactory and visual sensory impressions in relation to color cognition. The research will provide a general background of the existing theories and hypothesis that deals with cognitive aspects of color and odor perception. Cultural context and development of grammatical aspects of language determine methods we apply to color and odor categorization. Thus, on the basis of cross-cultural research it is proved that grammatical forms form the basis of our understanding and interpretation of olfactory and visual impressions. Analysis of cognitive perception of odors and colors highlight the differences that account for diverse color and odor categorization.
