Abstract
Maģistra darbā tiek pētīta vides pieejamība gājējiem Salacgrīvas pilsētā, kas ir aktuāla problēma gan tieši šai pilsētai, gan daudzām citām vietām Latvijā un pasaulē. Darba ietvaros aprakstīti dažādi publisko ārtelpu ietekmējošie faktori, vides pieejamības prasības pilsētvidē, izstrādāti priekšlikumi situācijas uzlabošanai.
Lai maģistra darbs būtu izmantojams pilsētas turpmākai attīstībai, tā izstrādes laikā notikusi sadarbība ar Salacgrīvas novada darbiniekiem, invalīdu un viņu draugu apvienību „Apeirons”, kā arī vietējiem iedzīvotajiem.

The Master Thesis „The Quality of Pedestrian Infrastructure in Salacgrīva Town” deals with the subject of environmental access for pedestrians in the town of Salacgrīva. The issue is topical not only for this town but as well as for many other locations in Latvia and around the world. The thesis highlights various aspects affecting the public open space, requirements for the environmental access in urban environments, moreover, the survey of local residents has been carried out and several proposals have been put forward to improve the situation. The Master Thesis is aimed at its further application by the town, hence the paper has been written in close collaboration with the employees of Salacgrīva region, the handicapped persons and their friends of the association „Apeirons”, and as well as the local residents. Key words Salacgrīva, public open space, environmental access, universal design, urban environments, spatial development, public participation.
