Cildenā kategorija Svetonija vēsturiskajās biogrāfijās „De vita Ceasarum”

Abstract

Maģistra darbā Cildenā kategorija Svetonija vēsturiskajās biogrāfijās “De Vita Caesarum” tiek pētītas Svetonija rakstītās valdnieku biogrāfijas. Darbā tiek apskatītas cildenā kategorijas un to izpausmes biogrāfiju tekstā no cilvēciskā un valodas aspekta. Kategorijas ir izvēlētas, analizējot Longīna traktāta Par cildeno saturu un tur atspoguļotās cildenās īpašības. Viena analīzes daļa balstās cilvēciskajā aspektā uz traktātā Par cildeno minētajām īpašībām, kādas piemīt cildenam cilvēkam. Valodas aspektā analīzē runāts par cildenu valodas stilu un to veidojošajiem elementiem, kādi ir iztirzāti Longīna traktātā. Darba mērķis ir atklāt cildeno gan Svetonija aprakstīto valdnieku biogrāfijās, gan teksta un tēlu valodā. Pētījuma gaitā tika atklāti daudzi cildeni aspekti gan analīzē aplūkotajos cilvēkos, gan valodas stilā. Tika iegūts priekšstats par cildenā veidiem un apmēriem Romas valdnieku raksturos un valodā. Aplūkoto valdnieku raksturi parādās cildeni vismaz vienā aspektā. Svetonija un valdnieku valodai piemīt cildenas valodas izteiksme.The Master’s thesis The Category of the Sublime in Historical Biographies "De Vita Caesarum'' by Suetonius holds a study on emperors’ biographies written by Suetonius. According to this subject there are reviewed the categories of the sublime and their manifestations in the biographies from the human and linguistic aspect. The categories are selected by analyzing the content of the treatise On the Sublime by Longinus and reflecting the sublime features. One part of the analysis is based on the human aspect by viewing the qualities mentioned in the treatise On the Sublime. From the linguistic aspect it is spoken of a sublime language style and its elements, that are shown in the treatise by Longinus. The goal of this study is to reveal the sublime both in the characters of the described emperors’ biographies by Suetonius and the style of the text. During the study a variety of the sublime aspects were discovered both in the humans and the language style reviewed in the analysis. There was obtained a notion about the forms and magnitude of the sublime in the characters of the Roman emperors and linguistics. The characters of the discussed emperors are sublime at least in one aspect each. The language of Suetonius and emperors both have an expression of a sublime style.
