Abstract

The second issue of the scientific journal "Ortodoxy in the Baltic" consists of three sections: 1.Scientific articles, 2.Memoirs, 3.Publication of documents. In the first section five scientific articles are published. In the article of the Polish historian, Professor Anthony Mironovich "The Ortodox Church in Poland and the Grand Duchy of Lithuania until the end of the XVIII century" the early period of the spread of Ortodoxy in Poland and Lithuania; relations between Metropolis and Kiev, Lithuania; relations between Metropolis of Kiev, Lithuania and Galicia; peculiarities of the coexistence of the Ortodox Church with the Roman Catholic Church, predominant in the region; problems of the Ortodox population of Rzeczpospolita are examined.
