Abstract
The aim of the study was to determine the relationships between Machiavellian personality traits, psychological Empowerment and Self-reliance, as well as the differences in these traits depending on the employee's job position. The study included 142 participants in paid employment, aged 18 to 64 years (121 women, 20 men and 1 respondent indicated - other/do not want to specify). 4 scales were used to collect data: Two-dimensional Machiavellianism Scale (Monaghan et al., 2020), Psychological Empowerment Instrument (Spreitzer, 1995) and Self-Reliance Scale (Padhy et al., 2024). Negative correlation between Machiavellianism and Empowerment. No correlation was found between Machiavellianism and Self-reliance. Positive correlation between Empowerment and Self-reliance. Managers experience higher Empowerment and Self-reliance than core personnel or specialists. No group differences were found for Machiavellianism.
