Abstract
Tika izmantota Dzīves jēgas aptauja MLQ (Meaning in Life Questionare, Steger et al., 2006) , kuru Latvijā ir adaptējis A. Koļesovs (2019) un “Uztvertā stresa skala” aptauja (PSS- Perceived Stress Scale, Cohen, Kamarc & Mermelstein, 1983), kuru Latvijā ir adaptējusi I. Stokenberga (2002).
The aim of the study was to investigate the relationship between meaning in life, age and daily stress. 159 respondents (113 women and 46 men) aged between 18 and 76 participated in the study. The MLQ (Meaning in Life Questionnaire, Steger et al., 2006) was used, adapted in Latvia by A.Koļesovs (2019) and the Perceived Stress Scale (PSS-Perceived Stress Scale, Cohen, Kamarc & Mermelstein, 1983), adapted by I. Stockenberga (2002). The results indicated that the perceived stress level is negatively related to the existence of meaning in life (rs = -0.25, p < 0.01), indicating that the higher the existence of meaning in life, the lower stress levels. The existence of the meaning of life is positively related to the age of the respondents (rs = 0.30, p < 0.01), which shows that with increasing age, a tendency of increasing the existence of the meaning in life can be observed.
