Abstract
Datu ievākšanai tika izmantotas divas aptaujas – Rozenberga pašcieņas aptauja (Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale, Rosenberg, 1965; aptauju Latvijā adaptējusi A.Miltuze, 1996) un Emocionālās empātijas aptauja (The Questionnaire Measure of Emotional Empathy, Mehrabian & Epstein, 1972; aptauju Latvijā adaptējusi J.Ļubenko, 2005).
The aim of this study was to examine the relation among self-esteem and emotional empathy in adults. The study involved 54 respondents aged 18 to 61 years (M=33,63, SD=10,23), of which 49 were female and 5 men. Two surveys were used to collect data – Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale (Rosenberg, 1965, scale adapted in Latvia by A. Miltuze,1996) and The Questionnaire Measure of Emotional Empathy (The Questionnaire Measure of Emotional Empathy, Mehrabian & Epstein, 1972; scale adapted in Latvia by J. Ļubenko, 2005). The results of the study indicate that there is statistically significant negative correlation between self-esteem and emotional empathy. As the level of self-esteem increases, the indicators of emotional empathy decrease.
