Abstract

Vīnes kongress (1814–1815) ir viena no visiespaidīgākajām epizodēm moderno laiku vēsturē. Tas pārveidoja Eiropas karti pēc Napoleona sakāves, kā arī izmainīja starpvalstu attiecību praksi, būtiski ietekmējot visus turpmākos notikumus un procesus Eiropā. Maģistra darbs "Henrija A. Kisindžera Vīnes sistēmas koncepcija un tās nozīme starptautisko attiecību vēstures pētniecībā" analizē Henrija Kisindžera vēsturiskos pētījumus par Vīnes kongresu un secina, ka Kisindžers piedāvā ļoti strukturētu un konceptuālu skaidrojumu tam, kas pirms gandrīz divsimt gadiem tika panākts Vīnē. Lai spriestu par Kisindžera pieteikto Vīnes kongresa vērtējumu nozīmi, maģistra darbā tiek pētīta atbilstošā rietumu starptautisko attiecību historiogrāfija.

The Congress of Vienna (1814–1815) is one of the most seminal episodes in the modern history. It redrew the map of Europe after Napoleon’s downfall and transformed the conduct of international affairs by leaving a significant impact on the following events and developments in Europe. The master’s thesis, "Henry A. Kissinger’s Concept of the Vienna Settlement and its Significance in the Study of History of International Relations", analyzes Henry Kissinger’s historical research on the Congress of Vienna and argues that his writings on the subject provide a coherent set of conceptual explanations of what was achieved at Vienna almost two centuries ago. In order to assess the significance of Kissinger’s take on the Congress of Vienna, the thesis thoroughly examines the relevant western historiography of international relations.
