Kristību tradīcijas Latgalē un Vidzemē 19.gs. beigās - 20. gs. sākumā

Abstract

Pētījuma mērķis ir apkopot un izanalizēt kristību un citas ar tām saistītās tradīcijas un ieražas un meklēt atšķirīgo un kopīgo kristību tradīcijās Latgalē un Vidzemē laika periodā no 19. gadsimta beigām līdz 20. gadsimta sākumam. Kristību tradīcijas nevar pētīt, sākot uzreiz skatīt kristības kā godu, jo visu paražu kopums, kas tika piekopts gatavojoties kristību godam, tā laikā un īsi pēc tā ir cieši savstarpēji saistīts. Darbā ir izdalītas, skatītas un analizētas; paražas un godi, kas tika piekopti līdz kristībām, kūmu izvēle un nozīme, tradīcijas un ticējumi, kuri tika ievēroti dodoties uz baznīcu, pašā kristīšanas procesā un atgriežoties no baznīcas, kristību goda svinēšana, pādes dīdīšana, kā arī paražas un tradīcijas, kuras piekopa īsi pēc kristību goda. Pēc apkopotā folkloras un etnogrāfiskā materiāla pielikumā arī izveidota salīdzinošā tabula, kurā attēlots tas, vai konkrētā tradīcija vai ticējums ir identisks abos novados vai arī sastopams tikai vienā no tiem. Līdz šim nav veikts tāda veida salīdzinājums starp Latgali un Vidzemi. Pētījums ir izmantojams, lai gūtu ieskatu par apskatāmā laika perioda kristību ieražām Latgalē un Vidzemē un izdarīt secinājumus par tā laika perioda sabiedrību un tās vērtībām. Atklājoties jauniem avotiem, pētījumu ir iespējams paplašināt.

The aim of the research is to summarize and to analyze the traditions of baptism and other traditions what are connected with the traditions of baptism and to search for the differences and the common in the traditions of baptism in Latgale and Livland in the period of the time from the end 19th century to the beginning of 20th century. The traditions of baptism could not be researched in the way that we begin to look the baptism instantly like celebration because of all totality of the traditions that was practiced preparing for the celebration of baptism, in the time during that and shortly after that is tight mutually connected. In the work are separated, viewed and analyzed; the customs, traditions and celebrations that were practiced to the celebration of baptism, the traditions and beliefs that were followed going to a church, in the process of the baptism and coming back from church, the celebrating of baptism, the drill of a godchild, as well as customs and traditions that were practiced shortly after the celebration of baptism. Basing on the summarized material of the folklore and ethnography, in the appendix is also made the comparative table which describes the incidence (is the respective tradition found in both regions or only in the one of both) of the traditions and beliefs in Latgale and Livland. The research could be used to gain insight about the traditions of baptism in the period from the end of the 19th century to the beginning to the 20th century in Latgale and Livland and to come to conclusions about the society and its values. Founding of new sources could extend the research.
