Maģistra darbā ir pētīti vēlā dzelzs laikmeta māla trauki Rietumlatvijā un apkārtējās sabiedrības atspoguļojums to ārējā izskatā. Darbā ir detalizēti analizēti māla trauki gan dažādās Rietumlatvijas dzīvesvietās, gan senkapos. Galvenā uzmanība ir pievērsta māla trauku kvantitatīvajām un kvalitatīvajām atšķirībām izvēlētajās senvietās. Apzinātās materiāla atšķirības ir interpretētas kontekstā ar katras konkrētās senvietas specifiku, kā arī dažādiem teorētiskajiem modeļiem, kas apskata senvietu mijiedarbību un māla trauku lomu sabiedrībā. Materiāla kontekstuāla analīze ļauj gūt ieskatu atsevišķos vēlā dzelzs laikmeta sociālajās organizācijas un savstarpējo attiecību aspektos konkrētajā reģionā. The magister thesis analyses the Late Iron Age pottery material in Western Latvia and explores how it represents the surrounding society. The theses presents an analysis of pottery material form different living and burial sites in the region focusing both on quantitative and qualitative aspects of pottery material. The noted variations in the material are assed in context of the site specifics. The gathered data is also compared to different theoretical models that explore the interrelation of sites and the role of pottery within the society. An integrated analyses of the pottery material allows to gain insight into the society organisation and its relations.
