Vēstures tematika latviešu teātrī. 1919-1940.

Abstract

Latviešu teātris Rīgā sāka veidoties 19. gadsimta 60. gados kā dažādu sabiedrībā notiekošo procesu – dzimtbūšanas atcelšana, jaunlatviešu darbība, inteliģences rašanās - likumsakarīgas sekas. 1869.gada 24.jūnijā tika likts pamatakmens Rīgas Latviešu biedrības namam. Svinībās tika rādīta pirmā latviešu oriģinālluga - Ādolfa Alunāna „Paša audzināts.” 1870.gada rudenī par Rīgas Latviešu biedrības teātra direktoru kļuva pirmais profesionālais latviešu lugu autors Ā.Alunāns. Latviešu tautas un latviešu teātra vēsturē svarīga loma bija vācu un krievu ietekmei, kas atstāja iespaidu uz teātra repertuāru. Ikviens ar latviešu tautas likteni saistīts notikums tika atspoguļots latviešu autoru darbos gan tiešā, gan simboliskā nozīmē. Vēstures tematika bija svarīga latviešu teātrī, jo tā ļāva skatītājam paraudzīties uz pagātnes notikumiem no cita skatupunkta sev saprotamā valodā un uztveres veidā.

The Latvian theatre found its beginning in Riga in the 1860s as an evident consequence of various social processes – the abolition of serfdom, the activity of the Neo-Latvians, the appearance of intelligentsia. On June 24, 1869, the foundation stone of the Riga Latvian Society House was symbolically laid. At the celebration, the first Latvian original play was performed – Adolfs Alunans’ „Paša audzināts” (Self-raised). In the autumn of 1870, A. Alunans, the first professional Latvian playwright, became the director of the Riga Latvian Society Theatre. An important role in the history of the Latvian nation and the Latvian theatre was played by the German and Russian influences that made an impact on the theatre repertoire. Every event connected with the fate of the Latvian nation was reflected in the works by the Latvian authors literally as well as symbolically. The history theme was important in the Latvian theatre because it let the viewers look back on the events of the past from a different point of view in an understandable language and manner of perception.
