Starp tradīciju un modernitāti: kultūrfilosofiskā refleksija Latvijā 19. gs. beigās - 20. gs. sākumā

Abstract

Maģistra darbā “Starp tradīciju un modernitāti: kultūrfilosofiskā refleksija Latvijā 19.gadsimta beigās / 20.gadsimta sākumā” tiek pētīta tradicionalitātes un modernitātes ideju koeksistence gadsimtu mijā. Pirmajā darba daļā ir analizēti galvenie koncepti, pievēršoties to dažādajām variācijām (jaunradītā tradīcija, lielā, mazā tradīcija, antitradīcija). Tiek iezīmētas konceptu tipoloģiju iespējas. Otrajā daļā ir pētīta Latvijas kultūrfilosofiskā situācija 19.gs. vidū un 19.–20.gs. mijā, izvēršot nacionālās identitātes formēšanās problēmu. Darba trešajā daļā tradīcijas–modernitātes aspektā tiek analizēti divu modernitātes (Raiņa, Aspazijas) un divu tradicionalitātes ideoloģijas (A. Niedras, E. Brastiņa) pārstāvju idejas, atsedzot tradīcijas–modernitātes savstarpējo mijiedarbi un pārklāšanos Latvijas kultūrfilosofiskajā kontekstā.

The paper “Betwixt Tradition and Modernity: the Philosophy of Culture in Latvia in the 19th/20th Centuries” reflects on two basic intelectual tendencies – traditionality and modernity at the turn of the 19th/20th centuries. In the first part the basic concepts, tradition and modernity, and their possible typologies are inspected. Besides, several variations of the terms – like invented tradition, great and little tradition, etc. – are discussed. The sociocultural situation of Latvia in the middle of the 19th century and at the turn of the 19th/20th centuries is reflected in the second part. In the third part the four representatives of both Modernity (Rainis, Aspazija) and Traditionality (A. Niedra, E. Brastins) wings are introduced and thus the correlation between traditon and modernity is revealed.
