Ziemeļlatgales atbrīvošana 1920.g. janvārī – februārī: militārās operācijas norise

Abstract

Darbā tiek apskatīta Ziemeļlatgales atbrīvošanas operācija – daļa no pēdējā un vismazāk pētītā Latvijas Neatkarības kara posma – Latgales atbrīvošanas. Tikai pēc Latgales atbrīvošanas kļuva iespējama visu latviešu apdzīvoto reģionu apvienošana un pilnvērtīgas Latvijas valsts izveide. Darba mērķis ir apskatīt un izvērtēt Latvijas armijas darbību, tās panākumus un neveiksmes, Ziemeļlatgalē, 1920. gada janvārī. Darbs aptver laika posmu no 1919. gada novembra, kad sākās gatavošanās Latgales atbrīvošanai, līdz 1920. gada 5. februārim, kad karaspēks visā frontē apstājās uz ieņemtās līnijas un pārtrauca aktīvu karadarbību, uzsākot ieņemto pozīciju nostiprināšanu. Darbā pārsvarā tiek apskatīta karaspēka virzība, kaujas darbība un Latvijas armijas panākumi frontē. Lai atvieglotu mērķa sasniegšanu, darbs ir sadalīts vairākos posmos vadoties pēc hronoloģiskā principa, operācijas gaitas un apstākļiem frontē.

In this work there is seen Northern Latgale release operation – part of last and least studied phase of the Independence war of Latvia – the liberation of Latgale. Only after liberation of Latgale, became possible uniting of all Latvians inhabited regions and establishment of full value Latvia state. Aim of the work is to examine and evaluate the activities of the Latvian army, its success and failures, in Northern Latgale, in January of 1920. The work covers the period from November of 1919., beginning of preparations for the liberation of Latgale, until the 5th of February 1920., when the army stopped on the reached front line, ceased active hostilities and started to strengthen their positions. The work mainly focuses on military progress, activities and achievements of Latvian army in the frontline. To facilitate the achievement of the objective, the work is divided into several periods following the chronological principle, course of the operation and the circumstances on frontline.
