Ķermeniskās kognīcijas un aktīvā eksternālisma diskusija mūsdienu kognitīvo zinātņu filozofijā

Abstract

Darbā aplūkota ķermeniskās kognīcijas pieeja mūsdienu kognitīvajās zinātnēs, tās kontekstā kritiski analizēta paplašinātā prāta jeb aktīvā eksternālisma tēze. Ķermeniskā kognīcija paredz, ka aģentu kognitīvos procesus tieši ietekmē viņu ķermeņa bioloģiskā uzbūve, kā arī situācijas konteksts. Aktīvais eksternālisms, viena no radikālākajām ķermeniskās kognīcijas ietvaros izvirzītajām teorijām, paredz, ka mūsu kognitīvie procesi un prāts neaprobežojas ar ķermeni, bet ietiecas apkārtējā vidē, aktīvi mijiedarbojoties ar tās objektiem. Pēc kritiskās analīzes autore nonāk pie secinājuma, ka nav pietiekama teorētiskā pamata, lai prātu dēvētu par paplašinātu, un piedāvā alternatīvu tēzi – komplementārās stratēģijas. The work concentrates on the embodied cognition approach in modern cognitive sciences and in this context draws a critical analysis of the extended mind or active externalism thesis. Embodied cognition means that the cognitive processes of an agent are directly influenced by the structure of their body, as well as the context of the situation. Active externalism, one of the more radical ideas within embodiment theories, suggests that our cognitive processes and the mind does not end with the body, but rather extends into the environment by active interaction with outside objects. After a critical analysis the author concludes that there is no sufficient theoretical basis for mind extension and provides an alternative solution – complementary strategies.
