Kuldīgas pilsēta Neatkarības kara laikā 1918.-1920.: pārvalde un saimniecība

Abstract

Bakalaura darba tēma ir „Kuldīgas pilsēta Neatkarības kara laikā 1918. – 1920.: pārvalde un saimniecība”. Pēc Pirmā pasaules kara beigām un Latvijas Republikas nodibināšanas pārvaldes un saimnieciskās problēmas bija galvenās, ar kurām bija jāsaskaras Latvijas pilsētām, to skaitā arī Kuldīgai. Darba mērķis ir izpētīt galvenos Kuldīgas pilsētas attīstības procesus un norises Neatkarības kara laikā, apkopojot un izpētot informāciju par pilsētas pārvaldi un saimniecību šajā laika posmā. Lai sasniegtu darba mērķi tiek uzstādīti vairāki uzdevumi: izpētīt Kuldīgas pilsētas stāvokli pirms kara un Pirmā pasaules kara laikā; analizēt pilsētas militāro nozīmi Neatkarības kara laikā un, visbeidzot, izmantojot iepriekš minētajos uzdevumos iegūto informāciju un to vēl papildinot, noskaidrot, ar kādām problēmām pilsētas pašpārvaldei nācās saskarties un kā tās tika risinātas, un kāds bija pilsētas saimnieciskais stāvoklis, sākoties Latvijas Neatkarības karam, un kā tas mainījās līdz 1920.gada beigām. Kuldīgas domes un valdes darbība, veicot Kuldīgas pārvaldi, bija konsekventa un tendēta uz straujāku pilsētas saimniecības atjaunošanu un iedzīvotāju stāvokļa uzlabošanu. Kaut arī Kuldīgas pilsētu Neatkarības kara laikā vairākas reizes okupēja dažādi spēki, tomēr neviena no šīm okupācijām nevilkās ilgu laiku un pašvaldības darbība netika pārtraukta, līdz ar to, salīdzinājumā ar 1918.gadu, 1920.gadā pilsētā ir vērojama liela saimnieciskā izaugsme.

Theme of this bachelor’s work is „The Town of Kuldiga during the War of Independence: Administration and Economy”. After the First World War and proclamation of the Latvian Republic main problems that the cities and towns of Latvia had to address, were administrative and economical. The main objective of this work is to explore the main processes during the War of Independence in the town of Kuldiga. To reach the main objective of this work, the author highlights the following tasks: explore the situation in the town of Kuldiga before the First World War and during the war; analyze the military importance of the town during the War of Indepenence and finally, using the information gathered in the previous tasks and supplementing it, clarify the problems that the municipal government of the town of Kuldiga had to face and how it tackled these problems, and also clarify the economic situation in the town at the beginning of the War of Independence and how it changed till the end of 1920. Actions of the municipal government of the town of Kuldiga while managing the town, were consistent and tended on faster reconstruction of the town’s economy and improvement of conditions of the inhabitants of the town. Although the town of Kuldiga during the War of Independence was occupied several times by one or another force, none of these occupations lasted for long and the operation of the municipal government wasn’t suspended. Because of that in 1920, compared to 1918, there is a huge economical growth in the town of Kuldiga.
