Abstract

Pētījums veltīts vienam no svarīgākajiem Latgales jaunāko laiku vēstures notikumiem – Latgales nacionālajai atmodai, kas hronoloģiski aptver laiku no 19. gadsimta beigām līdz 1917. gadam. Darba mērķis ir raksturot Latgales kultūrvēsturiskās teritorijas situāciju Krievijas impērijas sastāvā, kā arī analizēt un salīdzināt nacionālās atmodas centrālo darbinieku Franča Trasuna un Franča Kempa aktivitātes tautas izglītības veicināšanā, savstarpējo attiecību uzturēšanā starp Baltijas un Latgales latviešiem un Latgales nākotnes veidošanā. The subject of the research is dedicated to one of the most important historical events of Latgale contemporary history - Latgale national awakening, chronologically covering the period from the end of 19th century up to the 1917. The aim of the research is to characterize the cultural situation in Latgale during the time of the Russian Empire, as well as to analyze and compare the activities of central national awakening staff – Francis Kemps and Francis Trasuns - of public education, maintaining relations between latvians of Baltic and latvians of Latgale, and making future of Latgale.
