Kurzemes muižniecības heraldika 18.-19.gs.: kodifikācija un pielietojums

Abstract

Bakalaura darbs veltīts vienam no heraldikas virzieniem – dzimtu heraldikai, apskatot Kurzemes un Zemgales (turpmāk - Kurzemes) muižniecības heraldiku 18.-19. gs. Darbā aplūkota kodifikācijas veidošanās un heraldikas nozīme muižnieku dzīvē. Kurzemes heraldikas avotu klāsts ir plašs, taču lielākā daļa no materiāliem nav iekļauta zinātniskajā apritē, tāpēc pilnvērtīgas literatūras par izvēlēto tēmu latviešu historiogrāfijā nav. Pētījuma mērķis ir izpētīt Kurzemes hercogistes un guberņas dzimtu heraldikas veidošanos un nozīmi 18.-19.gs. kultūrvēsturiskajā vidē. Rezultātā iegūts kopējs priekšstats par heraldikas avotu klāstu un veidiem, kā arī par baltvācu heraldikas pētniecību. Apkopoti un analizēti vairāki līdz tam nepublicēti avoti, un gūti vairāki secinājumi par heraldikas avotu nozīmi mūsdienu vēstures pētniecībā un praktiskās heraldikas iespējām.

The Bachelor thesis contributes to one of the heraldic branch – family heraldry. The paper looks at the Courland (Kurzeme and Zemgale) landed gentry in the 18th to 19th century; it outlines development of the codification and the effect of heraldry existence on landlord’s life. There are several sources of literature on Courland heraldry; however, a considerable amount of materials is not presented in academic literature, therefore, available literature on particular topic in Latvian historiography is scarce. The aim of the thesis is to investigate the development and meaning of Courland duchy and province family in 18th to 19th century. This paper gives an overview of the heraldic classification and its sources; it also contributes to the Baltic-German heraldic research. The author summarizes and analyzes several unpublished sources, and concludes about contemporary research and practical use.
