Darba nosaukums ir Lielbritānija un Eiropas Kopiena: attiecību pamatproblēmas (1973-1990). Šī darba mērķis ir izpētīt Lielbritānijas un Eiropas Kopienas attiecības sākot no pievienošanās sarunu uzsākšanas, līdz pat Margaretas Tečeres ministru kabineta darbības beigām. Darbs sastāv no 3 nodaļām.
No pētījumiem var secināt, ka lielākās domstarpības starp Kopienu un Lielbritāniju, kas traucēja veiksmīgai sadarbībai un integrācijai radīja britu eiroskepticisms, sadarbība ar ASV, EBTA un Nāciju Sadraudzība, kā arī domstarpības Kopienas budžeta un lauksaimniecības jautājumos, kas izpelnījās lielu kritiku un iebildumus no Kopienas dalībvalstu puses.
Taču, veidojot kopīgu dialogu starp Eiropas valstīm un Lielbritāniju, bija iespējams radīt kompromisus, kuru rezultātā Lielbritānija pievienojās Kopienai un pamazām, integrējas tajā vēl šodien. The title of this work is The United Kingdom and the European Community: basic problems of relations (1973 - 1990). The aim of this work is to research problems of relations between European Community and the UK from the beginning of negotiation process till the end of Margaret Thatcher’s time as a Prime Minister.
This work contains of 3 chapters.
The research clarifies, that the most important problems who were disturbing the cooperation and integration process was British euroscepticism, “special” relations with the USA, EFTA, the Commonwealth and, also, argues on questions about the budget of the EEC and agriculture gained a lot of critique from the opposing Community countries.
Despite the argues, a dialogue between the EEC and the UK has been made, that led the UK to join the EEC and to continue integration process until today.
