Senkapi Abavas dabas parka teritorijā

Abstract

Darbs „Senkapi Abavas dabas parka teritorijā” rakstīts ar mērķi izpētīt visus senkapus dabas parka teritorijā, sniegt priekšstatu par to izplatību laika gaitā, mainīgajām apbedīšanas tradīcijām un etnisko piederību. Darba 1. nodaļā sniegts vispārīgs ieskats par ģeogrāfisko vidi upes ielejā, visiem tur esošajiem arheoloģiskajiem pieminekļiem, kā arī Abavas ielejas senkapu pētniecības vēsturi. 2. nodaļa atspoguļo trīs agrā un vidējā dzelzs laikmeta (1. – 8. gs.) Baltijas somiem piederošo akmeņu krāvumu senkapu aprakstu. 3. nodaļā apskatīti ar 10. – 13. gs. datētie senkapi Abavas ielejā: smilšu uzkalniņu kapi, kuros gan dedzinātus, gan nededzinātus savus mirušos guldīja vendi, ap 11. gs. no dienvidiem atnākušo kuršu ugunskapi, kā arī līdzenie skeletkapi, kas veidojušies sajaucoties vietējo Baltijas somu tradīcijām ar atnācējiem kuršiem. 4. nodaļā aplūkoti pieci viduslaiku perioda kapulauki, un 5. nodaļā aprakstīti trīs nedatēti senkapi, viena fosilā tīruma vieta, kā arī par senkapiem maldīgi uzskatītās Aizdzīras. 6. nodaļā sniegts visu Abavas ielejā esošo apbedīšanas tradīciju, kapulauku izplatības un to etniskās piederības raksturojums.

The purpose of "Cemeteries in the territory of Abava valley" is to explore all ancient burial fields in the territory of Abava nature park, changes in the burial practice, their distribution and ethnic attribution. Chapter 1 represents an overview of geographical layout in the lowland of river, all of the archeological monuments and research history of the burial fields in this territory. In the chapter 2 there are described three stone setting (tarand) cemeteries of Baltic Finns dated from The Early to the Middle Iron Age (1st-8th century AD). In chapter 3 there are analyzed various cemeteries dated from the 10th to 13th century AD: cemeteries of barrows made of sand with inhumation and cremation graves attributed to vendi, flat cemeteries with Couronian cremation graves dated to 11th century, flat cemeteries with inhumation graves which were created by mixing traditions of Baltic Finns and Couronians. In the chapter 4 there are analyzed five cemeteries dated to the Middle Ages. But in the chapter 5 there are described three ancient burials of unknown age, one fossil field and Aizdzīras – place of ancient findings, which was mistakenly considered as cemetery. Chapter 6 gives the information about changes of burial practices, their distribution and ethnic attribution over time.
