Dzelzs laikmeta arheoloģiskie pieminekļi Jelgavas novadā

Abstract

Bakalaura darbs izstrādāts par tēmu „Dzelzs laikmeta arheoloģiskie pieminekļi Jelgavas novadā”. Pētījuma mērķis ir apkopot un sniegt raksturojumu par Jelgavas novada dzelzs laikmeta arheoloģiskajiem pieminekļiem, to izvietojumu un izpētes līmeni. Darbā izmantoti materiāli, kas iegūti no Latvijas Nacionālā Vēstures muzeja, Arheoloģijas departamenta un Valsts Kultūras pieminekļu aizsardzības inspekcijas, Pieminekļu dokumentācijas centra. Tas sastāv no četrām nodaļām: Jelgavas novada administratīvi ģeogrāfiskais raksturojums; Dzelzs laikmeta dzīvesvietas Jelgavas novadā; Dzelzs laikmeta apbedījuma vietas Jelgavas novadā; Dzelzs laikmeta depozīti un kulta vietas Jelgavas novadā. Apkopojot pētījuma materiālus var secināt, ka Jelgavas novada teritorija šajā laikā bijusi visai blīvi apdzīvota. Ir skaidrs, ka šo teritoriju apdzīvojuši senie zemgaļi, kas apmetušies nelielo Lielupes baseina upīšu tuvumā.

Bachelor thesis is elaborated on the theme „ The iron age archeological site of Jelgava region”. The researce target is: gather and to provide characteristics of Jelgava Iron Age archaeological sites, their location and the level of investigation. In work involves material what derived from the Latvian National Museum of History, Department of Archaeology and and the State Inspection for Heritage Protection, Heritage Documentation Center. It consists the four chapters: Jelgava administrative geographical characteristics; Iron Age domicile or Jelgava region; Iron Age burials in Jelgava region; Iron Age deposits and places of worship in Jelgava region. Summarizing the research materials, it may be concluded that Jelgava territory has been quite densely populated. It is clear that this area was inhabited by Semigallians staying in the Lielupes basin small rivers nearby.
