Komunikatīvās pieejas izmantošana angļu valodas mācīšanā vidusskolā

Abstract

Vēstures gaitā ir attīstījušās dažādas angļu valodas kā otrās valodas vai svešvalodas mācīšanās pieejas. Viens no aspektiem svešvalodu mācīšanā ietver komunikatīvās pieejas izmantošanu, kas nozīmē, ka, kad vien iespējams, ir jāievieš autentiskā valodas izmantošana. Darba mērķis ir izpētīt Komunikatīvās Valodu Mācīšanās (KVM) īstenošanu Latvijas vidusskolās, kā arī noteikt komunikativo aktivitāšu ar autentisku materiālu pielietojumu ietekmi uz studentu motivāciju. Bakalaura darba autore ir veikusi literatūras avotu apskatu un, pamatojoties uz teorētiskājām zināšanām, veica pētījumu, izmantojot aptaujas anketas, lai noskaidrotu studentu un skolotāju viedokļus par KVM izmantošanu, koncentrējoties uz aktivitātēm ar autentiskuma pielietošanu un tā ietekmi uz studentu mācību sasniegumiem un ieinteresētību valodas apgūšanas procesā. Saskaņā ar pētījumu rezultātiem, vairākums aptaujāto studentu un viņu pasniedzēju atzinīgi novērtē KVM izmantošanu nodarbībās un augstu vērtē komunikatīvo aktivitāšu ar autentisku materiālu pielietošanu, jo tie palīdz paaugstināt skolēnu motivāciju. In the course of history, a variety of approaches to teaching English as a second or foreign language have been developed. One aspect of foreign language teaching involves using the Communicative Approach, which implies that whenever possible, authentic language use should be introduced. The purpose of this study is to investigate the application of the Communicative Language Teaching (CLT) at secondary schools of Latvia and to determine the effect of communicative activities derived from authentic input on student motivation. The author of the present thesis has reviewed the theoretical sources related to the theme under discussion and, on the basis of the theoretical knowledge, carried out a questionnaire-based survey to find out the opinions of students and teachers concerning the use of the CLT with focus on the activities employing authenticity and its impact on the students’ achievements and engagement in the process of language acquisition. According to the findings of the research, the majority of the students and their teachers participating in the survey approve of the use of the CLT in the EFL classroom and appreciate communicative activities derived from authentic input since they help to enhance student motivation.
