Ķelti bija viena no varenākajām tautām pasaules vēsturē. Viņi tiek uzskatīti par Īrijas iedzīvotāju priekštečiem. Šis bakalaura darbs pēta mākslas nozīmi un lomu senajos īru mītos un sāgās no visu ķeltu kultūras kopumā skatupunkta. Bakalaura darba mērķis ir analizēt mākslas reālijas senajos īru mītos un sāgās un secināt, vai māksla bija viena no iemesliem īru ķeltu spēkam un varenībai.
Pētījuma rezultātā tika atklāts, ka mākslai bija liela nozīme seno īru sabiedrībā. Saskaņā ar mītiem, mākslai piemīt pārdabisks spēks, kurš var ietekmēt cilvēka un dzīvnieka prātu un fizioloģiju. Mākslai arī var būt tikai simboliska nozīme, tā iekļauj sevī noteiktus kodus un ciparus.
Darba tapšanas procesā tika izmantota salīdzinošas analīzes metode un tematiskā pētījumu metode. Bakalaura darbs atbild uz visiem pētījuma jautājumiem. Šī pētījuma rezultāti un secinājumi var būt noderīgi pētniekiem un cilvēkiem, kas interesējas par seno īru ķeltu kultūru.
Šis bakalaura darbs sastāv no sešām nodaļām. Darba pirmā nodaļa atspoguļo saikni starp mākslu un mitoloģiju. Darba otrajā daļā ir pētīta mūzikas loma un nozīme. Trešā nodaļā prezentē mākslu cīņā. Darba ceturtā nodaļa atspoguļo rotājuma mākslu. Piektajā nodaļā tiek prezentēta arhitektūras māksla. Darba pēdējā nodaļā ir analizētas seno īru spējas spēlēt dažādas spēles.

They are considered to be the ancestors of the Irish people. The present Bachelor thesis investigates the meaning and role of arts in the early Irish myths and sagas. The particular theme is examined from the perspective of the early Celtic culture in general. The purpose of the research is to investigate art realia in the early Irish myths and sagas, and conclude whether arts are one of the reasons for power and greatness of the early Irish Celts.
The research showed that art played an important part in the early Irish society. According to the myths, art had a supernatural power that could influence human and animal mind and physiology. Nevertheless, art is also presented as a symbolic sign with its specific codes and numbers.
The research method used in this paper is comparative analysis and descriptive, case study. The Bachelor thesis answers all research questions. The results and conclusions of the thesis could be useful for every researcher or person who is engaged in the early Irish Celtic culture.
The Bachelor thesis consists of six chapters. Chapter I deals with the issues of art and mythology. Chapter II investigates the role and meaning of music. Chapter III present the art of fighting. Chapter IV deals with the art of ornament. Chapter V presents the art of architecture. The last chapter deals with the art of playing games.
