Oskara Vailda romāna "Doriana Greja ģīmetne" tulkoto versiju salīdzinošā analīze

Abstract

Jebkurš daiļdarbs ir tā autora meistardarbs; tieši tāpat kā daiļdarba tulkojums ir tulkotāja meistardarbs. Daži tulkotāji prot izmantot dažādas tulkošanas metodes un stratēģijas labāk kā citi. Oskara Vailda romānu „Doriana Greja ģīmetne/portrets” uz latviešu valodu ir tulkojuši divi tulkotāji: Jānis Ezeriņš un Roberts Kroders. Diplomdarba autorei šķita interesanti uzzināt kā šie tulkojumi atšķiras, tādēļ Diplomdarba mērķis ir salīdzināt divas Oskara Vailda romāna „Doriana Greja ģīmetne/portrets” tulkotās versijas. Diplomdarba nosaukums ir „Oskara Vailda romāna „Doriana Greja ģīmetne” tulkoto versiju salīdzinoša analīze”. Abu tulkoto versiju analīze pierādīja to dažādību. Roberts Kroders ir ļoti uzticīgs autoram un saglabā oriģinālo teikumu uzbūvi un leksiku, turpretim Jāņa Ezeriņa tulkojums ir brīvāks un radošāks.

Every fiction is its author’s masterpiece; equally translation of fiction is a masterpiece of the translator. Some translators manage to use translation strategies and methods better than other. Oscar Wilde’s novel “The Picture of Dorian Gray” has been translated in Latvian by two translators: Jānis Ezeriņš and Roberts Kroders. It seemed interesting to the author of the Diploma Paper to find out how their translations differ; therefore, the aim of the Diploma Paper is to compare two translated versions of “The Picture of Dorian Gray” by Oscar Wilde. The title of Diploma Paper is “Comparative Analysis of Translated Versions of “The Picture of Dorian Gray” by Oscar Wilde”. The analysis proved that the translated versions differ. Roberts Kroders is highly loyal to the author and sticks to the original sentence structure and lexis; while Jānis Ezeriņš uses free translation and is more creative.
