Frazeoloģismu tulkošanas problēmas un risinājumi

Abstract

Maģistra darba ietvaros veikts pētījums par iespējamiem risinājumiem un stratēģijām frazeoloģismu tulkošanā gan rakstveidā, gan mutvārdos. Darbā aplūkoti teorētiski avoti par frazeoloģijas kā valodniecības nozares attīstību, aprakstīta frazeoloģismu izcelsme un veidošanās, kā arī apzinātas iespējamās tulkošanas metodes. Pētījuma ietvaros izveidots angļu frazeoloģismu apkopojums ar atbilstošiem frazeoloģismiem vai tulkojumu zviedru un latviešu valodā, kā arī analizētas to kopīgās un atšķirīgās iezīmes. Pētījumā konstatēts, ka frazeoloģismu tulkošanai ir nepieciešamas plašas fona zināšanas, bet bieži vien runā tiek lietoti arī pilnībā pārsemantizēti vārdu savienojumi, kuru nozīmi nevar izsecināt no to komponentu nozīmes, tāpēc tulka darbā varētu noderēt frazeoloģismu vārdnīca. Darbs sastāv no trīs nodaļām ar apakšnodaļām, pielikumā pievienots frazeoloģismu apkopojums angļu, zviedru un latviešu valodā.

The present Master Thesis is a study on the possible solutions and strategies in translation and interpretation of idioms. The Master Thesis provides an insight into theoretical sources on development of phraseology as a field of linguistics. There is a description of origin and formation of idioms, and the possible methods of translation are studied as well. During the study there was a collection of English idioms made with corresponding idioms or relevant translations in Swedish and Latvian. There is an analysis of the common and the different traits of them. It was established that translators and interpreters need wide background knowledge for being possible to render idioms, but frequently there are idioms of completely changed semantics and it is not possible to conclude their meaning from the components of the idiom. Therefore a phraseology dictionary would be necessary for an interpreter or translator.
