Mūzikas tehnoloģiju terminoloģijas angļu-latviešu vārdnīcas izveide

Abstract

Pateicoties straujajai attīstīto tehnoloģiju attīstībai un to izmantošanai mūzikas radīšanā, rodas nepieciešamība pēc attiecīgās terminoloģijas atjaunošanas. Šie procesi tika aizsākti 20. gadsimta vidū saistībā ar jaunu mūzikas instrumentu ieviešanu. Šodien audio materiāla radīšana un skaņas apstrāde ir pārvērsta līdz nepazīšanai, jo tehnoloģijas arvien vairāk ietekmē ne vien cilvēku dzīves, bet arī mākslu. Iesaistot attīstītās tehnoloģijas mūzikas radīšanas procesos, ir radies jauns un iepriekš nelietots profesionālais žargons, ko plaši izmanto mūziķi un skaņu inženieri, kuri nodarbojas ar mūzikas radīšanu un skaņas apstrādi ar šo tehnoloģiju, jo sevišķi ar datoru programmatūru palīdzību. Šī darba mērķis bija atrast pamatprincipus Angļu – latviešu valodas mūzikas tehnoloģiju terminoloģijas vārdnīcas izveidei, kā arī piedāvāt šīs vārdnīcas uzmetumu, kas ir iekļauts šī darba pielikumā.

Due to the drastic increase of high-technology tools continuously being introduced into the field of music production the corresponding terminology must be updated as well. This process started in the middle of the 20th century as a result of the development of new musical instruments. Nowadays production and processing of audio material has changed beyond recognition as technologies more and more influence not only our daily lives, but also art as such. Thus, the penetration of high-technology tools into the music creation processes has created specific, previously unprecedented lexicon which is widely used among musicians and sound engineers who deal with music creation and processing with the help of high technologies, particularly, computer software. The purpose of this paper was to find the basic principles of compiling an English – Latvian dictionary of music technology terminology, as well as to develop a basis for this type of dictionary, which is included as an Appendix in this paper.
