Tulkošanas atmiņas programmu efektivitāte dažādu tekstu tulkošanā

Abstract

Mūsdienās tulkošanas procesu ievērojami atvieglo tā sauktās tulkošanas atmiņas programmas (CAT programmas). Šīs programmas palīdz tulkotājiem uzlabot tulkojumu kvalitāti un palielināt tulkošanas procesa ātrumu. Tomēr pastāv dažādi tekstu veidi un ne visi šie tekstu veidi ir piemēroti tulkošanai ar CAT programmām. Šis bakalaura darbs pēta tulkošanas atmiņas programmu efektivitāti dažādu tekstu tulkošanā. Bakalaura darbs sastāv no literatūras analīzes un pētnieciskās daļas. Pētnieciskajā daļā tika aptaujāti profesionāli tulkotāji, kā arī izveidots tulkošanas uzdevums Latvijas Universitātes Humanitāro zinātņu fakultātes ceturtā kursa studentiem. Rezultāti tika apkopoti un analizēti bakalaura darba pētnieciskajā daļā. Apkopojot rezultātus, var secināt, ka tulkošanas atmiņas programmu efektivitāti dažādu tekstu tulkošanā lielā mērā ietekmē gan teksta veids, gan konteksts, gan skopos (mērķis).

Nowadays, translation process has become much easier due the development of so called CAT software. CAT helps translators to increase the quality and speed of the translation process. However, there are different text types and not all of the text types are appropriate for translation with CAT tools. This bachelor thesis explores CAT’s efficiency translating different text types. The present bachelor thesis consists of literary analysis and practical research. In the practical research of this paper there was designed a questionnaire for professional translators and a task for the fourth year from the University of Latvia who study English Philology at the Faculty of Humanities. The results were analyzed and displayed in the practical part of the paper. According to the results, CAT’s efficiency translating different text types determines text type, context and Skopos or purpose.
