dc.description.abstract | Bakalaura darbā „Vārda uzsvara mācīšana integrētās angļu valodas nodarbībās pamatskolā”, izklāstīts, cik svarīgs ir viens no fonoloģiskās kompetences elementiem – vārda uzsvars.
dc.description.abstract | The present bachelor thesis ‘Teaching Word Stress to Young Learners in Integrated English Language Classes’ highlights the importance of word stress as one of the elements of phonological competence. The goal of this thesis is to gain a broader insight into the notion of word stress and deduce what the most appropriate methods of teaching word stress to young EFL learners in integrated English language classes could be.
The methods used in the given research are: theoretical and empirical (a case study).
The conclusions drawn are: it is possible to integrate teaching word stress in EFL classes with both the Audio-lingual method and the Silent way, although the Silent way proved to be more effective in teaching it. Nevertheless, a combination of techniques and activities of the methods should be used to gain the best results in developing perception and production of word stress in English.
