Literatūras loma politikā un vēsturē

Abstract

Šajā bakalaura darbā tiek raksturota un pētīta literatūras loma politikā un vēstures kontekstā. Galvenais pētījuma mērķis ir pierādīt literatūras politisko nozīmi. Bakalaura darbu veido trīs nodaļas. Pirmajā nodaļā un apakšnodaļās darba autore aplūko literatūras lomu sabiedrībā, politikā un vēsturē, kā arī rakstnieka lomu sabiedrībā un politikā, precīzāk, rakstnieka lomu Amerikas Savienotajās valstīs pirms pilsoņu kara, kā arī rakstnieka nozīmi Apvienotajā Karalistē pēc Otrā pasaules kara un Padomju Savienībā. Otrajā nodaļā tiek aplūkots sociokulturālais fons Herietes Bīčeres Stovas sentimentālajam romānam Krusttēva Toma būda, Salmana Rušdi maģiskā reālisma romānam Sātaniskās vārsmas un Aleksandra Solžeņicina reālisma romānam Viena diena Ivana Deņisoviča dzīvē. Trešajā nodaļā darba autore veic iepriekšminēto darbu analīzi. Veidojot šo analīzi, mērķis ir noskaidrot, kā literāra darba tematika saistās ar politiskām izmaiņām.

The present bachelor thesis is focused on researching and discussing the role of literature in the context of politics and history. The main purpose of the thesis is to argue about the political value of literature. The thesis consists of three chapters. In the first chapter and subchapters the author of the paper views the role of literature in society, politics and history, as well as the role of the writer in society and politics, more precisely, the role of the writer in antebellum America, postwar United Kingdom and the Soviet Union. The second chapter of the thesis focuses on the socio-cultural background of Harriet Beecher Stowe’s sentimental novel Uncle Tom’s Cabin, Salman Rushdie’s magic realism novel The Satanic Verses, and Alexander Solzhenitsyn’s realist novel One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich. In the third chapter and subchapters the author performs an analysis of the above mentioned works.
