Abstract

Bakalaura darba Svētbirzes un to funkcijas Ovidija poēmā Fasti mērķis ir izpētīt svētbirzi kā sakrālu vietu un tās funkcijas Ovidija poēmā Fasti. Darba teorētiskais pamats ir zinātniski pētījumi par brīvdabas kulta vietām romiešu reliģijā un no antīkajiem avotiem un teorētiskās literatūras veidots kopsavilkums par svētbirzes raksturiezīmēm un funkcijām. Pētījuma praktiskajā daļā aplūkotas svētbirzes Ovidija darbā Fasti, izpētīta to ainavu arhitektonika un divas funkcijas: mājvieta un reliģisko rituālu izpildes vieta. Analizējot Ovidija darbu Fasti un neaizmirstot par autora kā dzejnieka mākslinieciskā stila savdabību, secināms, ka autors sniedz nozīmīgu ieskatu svētbirzes izskatā un iezīmē šīs svētvietas nozīmi romiešu reliģijā. The aim of the research Sacred Groves and their Functions in Ovid’s Fasti is to explore sacred grove as a sacred place and its functions in Ovid’s poem Fasti. The theoretical basis of the research is based on works of modern researchers of the open-air places of worship in the Roman religion and summary of the ancient sources and theoretical literature that depicts hallmarks of sacred grove and its functions. Practical part deals with sacred groves in Ovid’s poem Fasti, exploring landscape architecture and two of its functions: abode and place for religious rituals. Examining Ovid’s poem Fasti and taking in account the originality of Ovid’s as poet’s poetical expression, it is inferable that the author provides with a significant insight into the appearance of sacred groves and highlights the importance of a grove as a sacred place in Roman religion Keywords: Ovid, sacred grove, religion, landscape architecture, functions.
