„Andrievs Niedra”. Tautas nodevēja izveide.

Abstract

Notikumi 1919. ir būtiski ietekmējuši nacionālās identitātes rašanos Latvijā. Tie vēl šobrīd ir noteicošie mūsu vēstures sapratnei, kā arī aizspriedumiem pret Andrievu Niedru, vāciešiem un krieviem. Mūsdienu Latvija ir radusies uz šo notikumu pamata. Viens joprojām dzird kādas briesmu lietas Andrievs Niedra toreiz darījis. Bet tā ir tikai viena puse no šajā laikā, tā ko mums stāsta. Šajā darbā ir mēģināts apskatīt šos notikumus no Andrieva Niedras skatupunkta. Parādīt šī gada notikumu otru pusi un veidu kā A.Niedra kļuva par tautas nodevēju, galveno uzsvaru liekot uz to cilvēku liecībām, kuri vēlāk ir nosaukti par tautas ienaidniekiem un visādi citādi nozākāti. Kā arī parādīt, ka vēlāk nopeltais Andrievs Niedra bija tas, bez kura darbības nevarēja izvedot Latviju.

The Events of 1919 have significantly influenced the Latvian national identity. Now they are decisive in our understanding of history, as well as bias against Andrievs Niedra. Modern Latvia was born form these events. One still hears what Andrievs Niedra did back then. But this is only one side of that time, the one we are told. This work attempts to look at the events from the perspective of Andrievs Niedra – a politician, writer and a priest. To show the other side of these events and the way how Niedra war made a traitor, with the focus on the testimonies of people who later were made enemies of the state and derogated in other ways. As well as to show that the later condemned Andrievs Niedra was the one without whom it was not possible to establish Latvia.
