Profesionālā slenga lietojums basketbola diskursā

Abstract

Bakalaura darbs pēta profesionālā slenga lietojumu basketbola diskursā. Darba mērķis ir analizēt kā profesionālais slengs pilda nosaucošo funkciju basketbola diskursā. Darba teorētiskā daļa apskata funkcionālās valodniecības teorijas, diskursu un kontekstu, kā arī slenga jēdzienu un profesionālā slenga funkcijas. Darba praktiskā daļa ir žurnāla „SLAM Magazine” ziņu rakstu diskursa analīze. Analīze veikta balstoties uz valodas funkcijām, kas apskatītas darba teorētiskajā daļā, koncentrējoties uz nosaucošo funkciju. Profesionālā slenga lietojuma analīze konkrētajā diskursā atklāj, ka nosaucošā funkcija, kas izteikta caur profesionālo slengu basketbola diskursā, detalizē komunikāciju starp speciālistiem un emociju izteikšanas funkcija piešķir valodai izteiksmīgumu.

The present paper investigates the use of occupational slang in basketball-related discourse. The goal of this paper is to analyze how the referential function is performed via occupational slang in basketball-related discourse. The theoretical part of the research discusses functional linguistics theories, discourse and context, as well as the notion of slang and the functions of occupational slang. The empirical part of the research is discourse analysis of basketball news articles selected from ‘SLAM Magazine’. Analysis is conducted on the basis of language functions discussed in the theoretical part of the research, with the focus on the referential function. The analysis of the use of occupational slang in the specific discourse reveals that the referential function expressed via occupational slang in the basketball-related discourse specifies the communication between specialists and that the emotive function adds expressiveness to the language used.
