Atslēgas vārdi: Cannabis sativa L., amonija nitrāts, stumbra anatomija, hlorofils, hlorofila a fluorescence. Nowadays hemp is a raw material with huge industrial potential. Although high productiveness is characteristic for it, possibilities are sought to increase its crop capacity even further. Literature provides contradictory data on the influence of nitrogen on the hemp fibre yield and the changes of physiological processes in plants.
The objective of the paper is to determine the influence of different nitrogen fertiliser doses on the hemp Cannabis sativa L. stem anatomy and the indices characterising photosynthesis, as well as on its fibre and seed crop.
To achieve the objective, anatomic sections of hemp stems were prepared using Leica RM 2145 microtome. Minolta SPAD-502 chlorophyll meter was used to determine the amount of chlorophyll, the fluorescence of chlorophyll a was measured by a Handy PEA instrument.
It was determined in laboratory and field tests that nitrogen fertiliser in doses 60 and 90 kg ha-1 promotes primary bast cell wall thickening in hemp stem, seed yield increase, but impact on total quantities of fibre is heterogeneous. The nitrogen fertiliser leaves beneficial influence on the amount of chlorophyll in hemp leaves. The trends of changes in amount of chlorophyll in hemp leaves and fluorescence parameters Fv/Fm, RC/ABS, Fv/Fo, PI indicates at increased physiological activity with all used nitrogen fertiliser treatments.
