| en_US |
dc.description.abstract | The subject of this research is changes of spatial structure of town Ogre from summerhouse resort in early twentieth century to postindustrial town of twenty first century, that adopts principles of sustainable development and introduces modern technologies into citizens’ everyday life. The objective of the research is to determine the formation of spatial structure of Ogre town and its development potential. The results show that even though the town Ogre is the civic, economic and cultural centre of district Ogres novads, created during the last civic reform in Latvia, its future is bound with Riga, because the distance to the capital is so small, that bonds between Ogre and Riga are stronger than bonds between town Ogre and other municipalities in district Ogres novads.
