Stila apzīmējumi „Formal” un „Informal” „Longman Dictionary of Contemporary English” vārdnīcā

Šis bakalaura darbs pēta stila apzīmējumus 'formal' un 'informal' „Longman Dictionary of Contemporary English” vārdnīcas otrajā un ceturtajā izdevumā. Lai atklātu stila apzīmējuma pielietošanas līdzības un atšķirības LDOCE2 un LDOCE4, tika pētīta teorētiskā literatūra par šo tēmu; tika analizētas vārdnīcas ievaddaļas; kā arī tika veikta analīze 'formal' un 'informal' stila apzīmējumiem. Empīriskie pētījumi ļauj izdarīt šādus secinājumus 'formal' un 'informal' stila apzīmējuma analīzē tika izmantotas dažādas to kombinācijas; stila apzīmējumi vārdnīcā LDOCE2 var tikt izmantoti kā alternatīvas 'informal' stila apzīmējumam, bet nevar tikt izmantojami kā alternatīva 'formal' stila apzīmējumam. Tādējādi tika pierādīts, ka ir izmaiņas 'formal' un 'informal' stila apzīmējumu pielietojumā, kuras parādās abās vārdnīcās.

In order to reveal the similarities and discrepancies in application of register labels in LDOCE2 and LDOCE4 the theoretical sources on the subject of the research were reviewed; the front matters of the two editions were examined; and the analysis of 'formal' and 'informal' register labels was carried out. The empirical research leads to the following conclusions: in the analysis of 'formal' and 'informal' labels a variety of different combinations was used; labels used by LDOCE2 can be used as alternatives of 'informal' labels, but cannot be used as alternatives of 'formal' labels. These conclusions prove there are changes in the application of these labels in both editions.
