Korelācija starp vārdu krājumu un rakstu valodas testa rezultātiem

Abstract

Diplomdarba tēma ir 'Korelācija starp vārdu krājumu un rakstiskā testa rezultātiem'. Darba mērķis ir izpētīt kopsakarību starp vārdu krājuma lietošanas biežuma sarakstiem (kas tiek iegūti ar VocabProfile programmas palīdzību) un rakstiskā testa rezultātiem. Diplomdarba prakstiskā daļa sastāv no skolēnu rakstiskā testa valodas korpusa (5208 vārdi). Tas iegūts apkopojot esejas, kas rakstītasValsts Centralizētajos eksāmenos angļu valodā un, lai iegūtu vārdu lietošanas biežuma sarakstus, tiek ievadīts programma VocabProfile. Teorētiskajā daļā tiek analizēta vārdu krājuma lietošanas biežuma sarakstu nozīmīgums, mācot svešvalodu, kā arī tiek analizētas vārdu krājuma kvalitātes noteikšanas un valodas korpusa veidošanas iezīmes. Pētījums rezultātā tiek secināts sekojošais: jo vairāk tekstā tiek lietoti akadēmiskā vārdu krājuma vārdi, jo augtāku vērtējumu iegūst skolēns. Turpetī ārpus saraksta esošo vārdu (kļūdaino vārdu) skaits būtiski neietekmē eksāmena rakstiskās daļas vērtējumus.

The theme of the diploma paper is 'Correlation between Vocabulary Use and Writing Test Results'. The aim of the paper is to explore the correlation between the vocabulary frequency lists offered by VocabProfile and the writing test results. To develop the empirical part of the paper, the student composed essays in Latvian Year 12 Examination in English are gathered to build a learner test corpus (5208 words) in order to obtain the word frequency lists produced by VocabProfile. For the purposes of the theoretical part, the significance of vocabulary frequency lists in the field of foreign language teaching is examined; the features of measurement of vocabulary knowledge and language corpora compilation are discussed. The research demonstrates that the more AWL words the writing contains, the higher mark a student has, nevertheless, the number of off-list words has not been of considerable importance during the assessment process.
