Slenga sociolingvistiskie aspekti Entonija Bērdžesa romānā „Mehāniskais apelsīns”

Abstract

Slengu bieži vien asociē ar noteiktu sabiedrības slāni, tāpēc tā izmantošana literāros darbos ļauj autoram attēlot varoņa identitāti, neaprakstot to. Slenga lingvistiskie aspekti Entonija Bērdžesa romānā “Mehāniskais apelsīns” (A Clockwork Orange) ir daudz pētīti, savukārt identitātes jautājumam nav pievērsta tik liela uzmanība. Šī darba mērķis ir izpētīt romāna slenga sociolingvistiskos aspektus un tā nozīmi galvenā varoņa identitātē. Izmantotās pētīšanas metodes ir literatūras apskats un stāstītāja diskursa semantisko lauku analīze. Pētījuma rezultāti uzrāda, ka izdomāta slenga funkcijas neatšķiras no īsto slengu funkcijām. Romāna slengs atklāj galvenā varoņa identitāti un attieksmi. Viņa vairākās identitātes tiek izceltas ar valodas lietojumu. Slang is often associated with certain layers of society; therefore, its use in fiction allows the author to display the character’s identity indirectly. Unlike the identity of the protagonist, linguistic aspects of slang in A. Burgess’s A Clockwork Orange have been studied extensively. The purpose of this paper is to study the sociolinguistic aspects of slang of the novel and its relation to the protagonist’s identity. The research methods applied are literature review and analysis of the semantic fields of narrator’s discourse. The results of the research show that functions of fictional slangs do not differ from existing slangs, Nadsat reveals the protagonist’s identity and attitudes, and his linguistic behaviour displays his multiple identities.
