Dzimtes lomu attēlojums Šarlotes Brontē romānos

Abstract

Bakalaura darbs ar nosaukumu „Dzimtes lomu attēlojums Šarlotes Brontē romānos” (“Gender Roles in Charlotte Brontë’s Novels”) aplūko dzimtes lomu nozīmi, apskata sieviešu un vīriešu tēlus un lomas trīs Šarlotes Brontē romānos – Džeina Eira, Šērlija un Skolotājs. Jau 19. gadsimtā liela vērība tika pievērsta tematiem par dzimtes studijām un to nozīmīgumu, kā arī vajadzībai pēc vienādām iespējām un draudzīgu attiecību būtībai starp vīrieti un sievieti. Tādējādi bakalaura darbs pēta dzimtes lomas; aplūko 19. gadsimta sieviešu sabiedrisko stāvokli un Viktorijas laika džentelmeņa sabiedrisko portretu; pēta vēstures materiālus attiecībā uz gadsimtu un sieviešu un vīriešu lomu; kā arī analizē vīriešu un sieviešu tēlu lomas Šarlotes Brontē romānos. Pētījums rāda, ka Šarlote Brontē lauž sabiedrībā dominējošos stereotipus, kur galvenā nozīme ir vīrietim, viņa stāvoklim un labklājībai. Autore parāda, ka gan sievietei, gan vīrietim ir vienādas tiesības uz laimi, cieņu un sevis atzinīgu novērtējumu. Bakalaura darba atslēgvārdi ir: dzimte, vīrietis, sieviete, vienlīdzība.

The Bachelor Thesis with the title “Gender Roles in Charlotte Brontë’s Novels” looks at the importance of gender studies, examines the female and male characters and their roles in three novels by Charlotte Brontë - Jane Eyre, Shirley and The Professor. The significance of gender studies and the need for equal opportunities and companionship between a man and a woman were essential matters already in the nineteenth century. Hence the Paper studies gender roles; examines the social status of women in the nineteenth-century and the social portrait of the Victorian gentleman; it studies proper history material about the century and the role of women and men; as well as analyses the roles of males and females in Charlotte Brontë novels. The research shows that Charlotte Brontë breaks the stereotypes dominating in the society where a male, his positions and prosperity is central. The author shows that both – males and females – have equal rights for happiness, esteem and self-approval. The key words of the Paper are: gender, male, female, equality.
