Alūzijas lietojums ASV prezidentu inaugurācijas runās

Abstract

Bakalaura darbā tiek pētīts alūziju lietojums ASV prezidentu inaugurācijas runās un izmaiņas kādas parādās alūziju lietojumā laika gaitā. Pētījumā tika analizētas 54 ASV prezidentu inaugurācijas runas. Šajā darbā inaugurācijas runas tiek apskatītas kā atsevišķs žanrs, alūzija kā līdzeklis intertextuālu saistību veidošanai. Analīzes rezultāti liecina, ka vērtības, uz kurām visbiežāk atsaucas ASV prezidenti, ir vienotība, pašpaļāvība, aktīvisms un patriotisms, kā arī vērtības, kas ir iekļautas ASV Neatkarības Deklarācijā un Konstitūcijā, proti, brīvība, demokrātija un vienlīdzība. Turklāt analīze liecina, ka valsts dibināšanas gados, kā arī pēdējos ASV vēstures periodos, priekšplānā tiek izvirzītas idejas par ‘pilsētu kalna galā’ un Amerikas Sapni. The Bachelor Thesis investigates the use of allusions in the US Presidents’ inaugural speeches and changes that occur in the use of allusions in the course of time. The research covers 54 inaugural speeches of US Presidents. It examines inaugural speeches as a genre, allusion as a means of creating intertextual relations. The analysis of inaugural speeches shows that during inauguration US Presidents most frequently refer unity, self-reliance, activism and patriotism as well as values embedded in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution, namely, freedom, democracy and equality that constitute the ideological and cultural heritage of the American nation. Moreover, the analysis of allusions used in inaugural speeches shows that in the years of foundation of the country and in the latest periods of the US history the ideas of ‘city upon a hill’ and the American Dream are more prominent.
