Eleinas no Astolata tēls angļu literatūrā

Abstract

Bakalaura darbs „Eleinas no Astolata tēls angļu literatūrā” ir vēltīts Eleinas no Astolata tēla izveides un attīstības analīzei. Pētījumā aplūkoti leģendas avoti un svarīgākie elementi, kā arī tiek traktētas atšķirības starp Eleinas tēla versijām, kuras pastāv angļu literatūras tekstos no 14. līdz 20. gs. Pētījumā piedāvāta literārā personāža ģenēze no tā viendimensijas statiskā rakstura viduslaiku literatūrā līdz tā patstāvīgam daudzdimensiju raksturam 19.-20. gs. mijas angļu literatūrā. Neraugoties uz to, ka Eleina no Astolata nav kļuvusi par dinamisku personāžu, tās loma 19. gs. Artūra tradīcijas literatūrā ir nozīmīga. Pateicoties godbijīgajai attieksmei pret viduslaiku Artūra tradīciju 19. gs. atdzimst leģenda par Eleinu, kura tiek uztverta kā mitoloģizēts un kultūras marķēts stāsts.

The bachelor paper “The Image of Elaine of Astolat in the English Literature” is devoted to the analysis of the formation and development of the image of Elaine of Astolat. The research points out the origins, as well as the most essential elements of the story, and discusses the differences between the treatments of the character of Elaine in the texts, belonging to the English Literature, from the 14th up to the edge of the 19th and 20th centuries. The work reveals that Elaine as a literary figure, starting as a flat and static character in the medieval literature, has become a round and independent character in the Arthurian literature at the edge of the 19th and 20th centuries. Although Elaine of Astolat has not altered to a dynamic character, her role is very significant in the Arthurian literature of the second part of the 19th century. Due to the respect towards the medieval Arthurian tradition and the impact of the 19th century revival, the legend of Elaine is perceived as one of the mythological and recognizable stories.
