Somu grupas HIM albuma „Venus Doom” analīze

Abstract

Bakalaura darba „Somu grupas HIM albuma Venus Doom analīze” mērķis ir latviešu valodā sniegt pēc iespējas plašāku ieskatu HIM muzikālajā attīstībā, solista Villes Valo rakstītajos dziesmu tekstos un to nozīmē. Tika izvirzīta hipotēze, ka katra Venus Doom dziesma varētu atbilst kādam no elles lokiem. Bakalaura darba autore pēc saviem ieskatiem izvēlētā albuma dziesmu tekstus ir izpētījusi intertekstuāli, kā par priekšgājēju ņemot Dantes Aligjēri darbu Dievišķā komēdija.

Bakalaura darbs sastāv no 47 lappusēm un 5 pielikumiem, kas sastāda 8 lappuses.

Teorētiskajā daļā apskatīta HIM biogrāfija, diskogrāfija, žanrs, simbolika, Dievišķā komēdija un elles 9 lokos atrodamā simbolika. Papildus darbā veikts ieskats arī Dantes Aligjēri biogrāfijā.

Darba praktiskajā daļā, analizējot dziesmu tekstus, meklēts kopīgais ar Dantes darba elles daļu, salīdzināta valoda un simboli.

Darba mērķi autore uzskata par sasniegtu, jo detalizēti apskatīta HIM biogrāfija, muzikālā attīstība, Venus Doom aplūkots vizuāli, muzikāli un saturiski.

Darbā izvirzītā hipotēze, ka katra dziesma atbilst kādam elles lokam, atzīstama par nepatiesu. Kaut gan gandrīz visās dziesmās minēta elle vai kāda ar elli saistīta parādība, albums nav pavisam piesaistīts elles lokos aprakstītajiem grēciniekiem, sodīšanas metodēm; nav arī elles personāžu. Vienīgā ar Dievišķo komēdiju kopīgā lieta, kas atrodama visās dziesmās, ir ideoloģija par mīlēšanu cauri ciešanām.

The aim of the bachelor paper ”The analysis of album Venus Doom by Finnish band HIM” is to give as far as possible wider discretion in band`s musical development and in the lyrics and meanings written by soloist Ville Valo. A hypothesis was brought forward, that each song from Venus Doom refers to one Inferno`s circle. The authoress of the work by her own discretion has explored the lyrics intertextually, as an predecessor was taken The Divine Comedy written by Dante Alighieri.

The bachelor paper consists of 53 pages and 5 attachments, that makes 8 pages.

In the theoretical part of the work is inspected HIM biography, discography, genre, symbolism, The Divine Comedy and symbolism from 9 circles of Hell. Supplementary there is discreton in the work in Dante Alighieri`s biography.

In the practical part of the work there has been searching after common with the Hell from Dante`s work, which has been done by comparing language un symbols, and by analysing the lyrics.

The authoress of the work has achieved the aim, because the biography and musical development of HIM had been looked through particulary; Venus Doom has been analysed visually, musically and by contents.

The hypothesis brought forward, that each song from Venus Doom refers to one Inferno`s circle, recognized as false. Althouhg almost in each song there ir mentioned Hell or a phenomenon connected with hell, this album is not directly linked with the sinners or methods of punishment pictured in 9 circles of Hell; there are not any characters from Hell. The only common thing with The Divine Comedy, which is described in each song, is an ideology about loving through the suffering.
