| en_US |
dc.description.abstract | This master thesis will look at different new terms introduced in Latvian language. The main difficullty is the fact that almost nothing is produced in territory of Latvia. Most of the innovations come from Western European countries, Japan and USA. Mainly all the names of these innovations are in English and it is not always possible to give equivalent translations in terms of meaning and structure. The other aspect is the number of people interested in this is rather low. A simple user of automobile will most likely not be interested in this at all, and all the enthusiasts and experts of the field communicate in their specialised jargon. the official and subcultural terms will be compared. Also the difficulties of translating car subculture texts and auto journalism articles will be viewed. these the words quite often semantically have a very different meaning in from the one that is the first and main. | en_US |
