Sieviete 18.gs. un Viktorijas laikmetā Dž.Faulza "Franču leitnanta sieviete " un Viljama Kolinsa "Sieviete baltā"

Abstract

Šī bakalaura darba nosaukums ir ‘Viktorijas laikmeta sievietes romānos Dž.Faulza ‘Franču leitnanta draudzene’ un Vilkija Kolinza ‘Sieviete baltā’. Šī darba galvenais uzdevums ir attēlot Viktorijas laikmeta sievieti un aprakstīt faktorus, kuri ietekmēja viņas personību. Šis mērķis ir sasniegts, izmantojot literatūras kritisko analīzi, kas attiecas uz Viktorijas laikmeta sievietēm, kā arī Vilkija Kolinza un Dž. Faulza varoņu salīdzinošo analīzi. Bakalaura darba atslēgas vārdi: Viktorijas laikmeta sieviete, dzimumu nevienlīdzība, patriarhālā sabiedrība, izvēles brīvība un sievietes emancipācija. Teorētiskajā daļā šī darba autors apskata tādas šim bakalaura darbam nozīmīgas tēmas kā ‘atsevišķas darbības sfēras’, atšķirīgas sociālās grupas Viktorijas sabiedrībā, sieviešu likumīgais statuss un viņas emancipācija. Praktiskajā daļā ietverta abu romānu galveno varoņu analīze. Šī daļa atspoguļo atšķīrīgus Viktorijas laikmeta sieviešu attēlus, vadoties pēc sekojošiem kritērijiem: atšķirīgas sociālās grupas, likumīgais sievietes statuss un viņas emancipācija.

The title of this Bachelor Thesis is ‘Woman in Victorian epoch in J.Fowles’s novel ‘The French Lieutenant’s Woman’ and W. Collins’s ‘The Woman in White’. The main objective of this work is to represent the image of a Victorian woman and construct a nuanced account of the factors impacted upon women’s own identities. This objective is achieved by critical analysis of the literature on women in the Victorian era and comparative analysis of the characters of W.Collins’s novel ‘The Woman in White’ and J.Fowles’s ‘The French Lieutenant’s Woman’. Key words of this thesis are a Victorian woman, gender inequality, patriarchal society, freedom of choice, women’s emancipation. In the theoretical part of the thesis the relevant topics to the theme are discussed, such as the theory of ‘separate spheres’, different social classes in Victorian society, women’s legal status and her emancipation, as represented the woman in a Victorian novel. The practical part contains the analysis of the protagonists of both novels. This part represents the images of different types of a Victorian woman according to the theoretical aspects as different social classes, legal position of the Victorian woman and her emancipation.
