Leksēmas SUCH semantika un sintakse

Abstract

Vēstures gaitā dažas leksēmas nevar viennozīmīgi klasificēt kādā konkrētā vārdšķirā. Lai klasificētu leksēmu vienā vai otrā vārdšķiras kategorijā, jāizpēta tādus savstarpēji saistītus valodas segmentus, kā semantika un sintakse. Parasti tieši semantisko un sintaktisko īpašību kopums ļauj visprecīzāk raksturot attiecīgo leksēmu gramatiski. Šis maģistra darbs sniedz pārskatu par leksēmas SUCH sintaksi un semantiku no 19.gs. līdz mūsdienām. Pētījumā aplūkotas tādas īpatnības kā polisēmija, gradācija,un citas abstraktas semantiskā apraksta īpašības. Ieskats leksēmas diahronā attīstībā, varam saprast, kā visprecīzāk raksturot leksēmas sintaktiskās un semantiskās īpašības. Ar datubāzes palīdzību šajā darbā ir pētīts kā leksēma tiek lietota mūsdienu valodā. Empīriskā pētījuma daļa apstiprina un dod papildus argumentus teorētiskajiem apgalvojumiem par SUCH nozīmi un gramatiku. Galvenais pētījuma secinājums ir, ka leksēma SUCH ir polisemantiska, bet tās sintaktiskās pazīmes ir samērā vienveidīgas, tāpēc gramatiskajā aprakstā SUCH būtu klasificējama kā īpašības vārds.

In the course of history some lexemes change their semantic and syntactic properties and thus cannot be easily listed in one or another word-class. In order to assign a lexeme to a word-class both semantic and syntactic properties should be considered. Usually it is the combination of both semantic and syntactic features that make it possible to describe a lexeme best for a grammatical account. This master paper presents an overview of syntax and semantics of the lexeme SUCH from 19th century till nowadays. The paper discusses such abstract semantic features as polysemy, gradability and other relevant properties. The diachronic insight gives a comprehensive characterization of SUCH syntax and semantics. With help of corpora-based research the paper describes usage of lexeme such as well as supports the theoretical claims drawn from theoretical linguistic sources. The principal conclusion drawn from the research is that although SUCH is a highly poysemantic lexeme the syntactic features are rather homogenous and therefore it has been suggested that SUCH belongs to the word-class of adjectives.
