Gnomes Homēra „Odisejā”

Abstract

Bakalaura darba tēma ir "Gnomes Homēra „Odisejā”". Darba mērķis ir izpētīt gnomes un to funkcionējumu Homēra eposā Odiseja. Darba teorētiskais pamats ir balstīts antīko autoru darbos (Aristotelis, Kvintiliāns) un mūsdienu literatūras teorētiķu (K. Cagalis, T. Morgana, A. Lardinuā u.c.) uzskatos par gnomēm, to būtību, veidiem, strukturējumu, funkcionējumu un raksturīgajām iezīmēm. Pētījuma praktiskajā daļā tiek pētītas un analizētas gnomes. Klasificējot eposā sastopamās gnomes, pirmkārt, tiek pētīti gnomē ietvertie uzskati, otrkārt, gnomes tematika un, treškārt, gnomes saistība ar kontekstu un tās funkcionējums. Darba gaitā tiek izpētīts, kā eposā funkcionē gnomes, kuras tekstā sastopamas gan paplašinātu, gan nepaplašinātu teikumu veidā. Izpētes procesā tiek atklāts, ka gnomes ir spēcīgs rīks, ar kuru var pārliecināt, uzzināt kāroto informāciju, kā arī mācīt par dažāda veida gudrību. The theme of the bachelor’s thesis is "Gnome in Homer's "Odyssey"". The aim of the paper is to explore gnomes and their functioning in Homer’s epic „Odyssey”. The theoretical part is based on works of the ancient authors (Aristotle, Quintilian) and contemporary literature theorist (Tsagalis Ch, Morgan T, Lardinois A, etc.) views about gnome, their essence, kinds, structure, functionality and their characteristics. The practical part of this thesis deals with research and analysis of gnome. During the process of classifying gnomes from the Homer’s epic, first of all, the views, which gnomes contain, are studied, secondly, the themes of gnomes are studied and, thirdly, the connection of the gnome and context, and its functionality is studied. The thesis explores functions of gnomes, which in the text are used as compound sentences and as simple sentences. Research process revealed that gnome is a powerful tool, which can persuade someone, which can help to find out desired information, and which can teach about different kind of wisdom.
