Debates svešvalodu apguves procesā

Abstract

Diplomdarba „Debates svešvalodu apguves procesā” mērķis bija izpētīt debates lomu skolēnu komunikācijas un runas prasmju pilnveidošanā, kā arī tās ietekmi skolēnu mācīšanās motivācijas veicināšanā. Lai sasniegtu izvirzīto mērķi, tika izvirzīta hipotēze “Debates Angļu valodas apguves procesā sekmē skolēnu komunikācijas un runas prasmes, kā arī veicina mācīšanās motivāciju”. Lai apstiprinātu vai noliegtu izvirzīto hipotēzi, tika pētīti un analizēti teorētiskie literatūras avoti , kā arī veikts empīrisks pētījums. Diplomdarbs sastāv no piecām nodaļām. Pirmajā nodaļā autore iztirzā runas komplicētību, uzsverot tekošas runas nozīmi komunikācijā. Otrā nodaļa veltīta komunikācijas procesa un funkciju izpētei, kā arī īsi tika raksturotas komunikācijas stratēģijas. Runu un komunikāciju ietekmējošie faktori, uzsverot motivācijas nozīmīgumu, tika apskatīti trešajā nodaļā. Debatēm kā runu un komunikāciju veicinošai aktivitātei svešvalodas apguves procesā tika veltīta ceturtā nodaļa. Piektajā nodaļā apkopoti un analizēti empīriskajā pētījumā iegūtie dati. Pētījuma rezultātā tika secināts, ka debates sekmē skolēnu komunikācijas un runas prasmes, veicina motivāciju mācīties, kā arī ceļ skolēnu pašapziņu. Diplomdarbs „Debates svešvalodu apguves procesā” sastāv no 55. lappusēm, 2. tabulām, 3. attēliem, 9. pielikumiem. Darbā izmantoti 76 literatūras avoti.

The aim of the diploma paper “Debate in EFL class” was to investigate the role of debate in students’ speaking and communication skills development and their motivation to learn. To meet the aim the following hypothesis was proposed:”The use of debate in English language teaching facilitates the development of students’ communication and speaking skills, and raises their motivation”. To prove or disprove the proposed hypothesis, theoretical sources on the development of students’ communication and speaking skills and motivation were studied and analysed, also the empirical research was conducted. The diploma paper consists of five chapters. The first chapter there is discussed the complexity of speaking in EFL class, emphasizing the importance of fluency in communication with others. The second chapter is devoted to the examination of communication process and functions, a brief description of communication strategies is also provided. In the third chapter are explored speaking and communication influencing factors, emphasizing the importance of motivation. Debate as a facilitator of speaking and communication in EFL class is discussed in the fourth chapter. The research related concerns, data and the analysis are revealed in chapter five. It was concluded that debate facilitates the development of students’ communication and speaking skills, and raises their motivation and self – confidence . Diploma paper “Debate in EFL class” consists of 55 pages, 2 tables, 3 figures, 9 Appendices. There were 76 sources consulted.
